Productiontrax.com celebrates second anniversary with 18,000th track

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Productiontrax.com, a leader in online distribution and licensing of independent royalty free music and sound effects got even bigger this month, adding their 18,000th digital media file to their rapidly expanding music library. The milestone comes as Productiontrax.com enters its third full year of operations online.

Launched in February, 2003, Productiontrax.com was the first site of its kind, allowing composers of royalty free production music to take an active role in licensing their music to the public. Composers on Productiontrax.com can upload any music they choose, and set keywords, categories, even the retail price of the track. On the other side, customers can listen to previews of the music, select the tracks they want for their projects, and then use the files legally in multimedia projects. Anyone, anywhere can buy or sell tracks on Productiontrax.com.

“No other stock media site was doing what we were doing when we first launched,” says Productiontrax.com founder and One Light Music CEO, David Negron. “We took a lot of heat for embracing an open-market model, allowing composers to decide what their music was worth. But the end result blew us away, and we believe that the balance we’ve achieved between provider and end-user makes Productiontrax.com a fair and appealing place to buy and sell royalty free music and sound effects.”

The result: in just two years, the Productiontrax.com library has grown to over 18,000 royalty free music, sound effects, and stock footage files, with over 15,000 licensed and placed in multimedia projects ranging from TV commercials to home videos. “We owe our success to not only our wonderful customer base, but to our composers and media providers,” Negron says. Productiontrax.com pays out royalties of 65% per sale back to its contributors, one of the highest payout rates in the industry, with a bulk of the proceeds benefiting independent musicians and sound designers.

Productiontrax.com Expands Browse Options for Royalty Free Music and Sound Effects

Productiontrax.com, a leading database of downloadable royalty free music and sound effects, has added several additional music genres and categories to help site visitors find royalty free music faster and easier. Among the additions are a new Blues subcategory within the Jazz main-category, an entire section devoted to electronic music, including styles of Dance, Ambient, Trance, and Techno.

Productiontrax also just made finding royalty free sound effects on its site even easier, dividing sfx tracks into sound specific categories, including Machine sounds, Transportation sound effects (boats, trains, planes, cars), Musical Instrument sounds, People sounds (including crowds, ambiences, laughing, and talking sounds), as well as Nature sounds (including rain, thunder, ocean sounds, waves, and animals – who doesn’t love a good monkey sound effect?), and general ambience and noise.

Visitors will find that their search for sounds will be smoother and faster than before, as the site can quickly narrow the scope of relevant music and sound effects tracks down to as little as 3 possible tracks instead of 300 tracks.

As always, visitors to Productiontrax.com can search and browse sounds by category, instrumentation, emotional content, suggested film genres and more.

Productiontrax.com Connects Producers to Composers Worldwide

Scottsdale – Local music production company One Light Music Productions, Inc. announced the launch of Productiontrax.com Wednesday, a website that provides high quality, royalty-free production music and sound effects for film, TV, and multimedia from a worldwide network of composers.

“Productiontrax.com is really the first production music library of its kind,” said David Negron, founder and president of One Light Music, and creator of Productiontrax.com. “Sure, there are plenty of library music websites out there, but how many of them offer music from a worldwide network of over 200 composers? It is a true online music marketplace and community for the film and multimedia composer, where anyone in the world can find original music an any style that they can use in their projects without hassle.”

Productiontrax.com’s unique approach to providing library music has caught the attention of composers, multimedia producers, and industry executives worldwide, with over 3,000 royalty free tracks already online available full-quality preview and instant download, and that number is steadily increasing by the day.

Visitors to productiontrax.com can preview tracks in full quality, with most tracks boasting a preview length of 90 seconds or more, and then download their tracks in MP3 format instantly. Tracks can be browsed by style, emotional content, instrumentation, even by suggested film genre. A powerful advanced search engine makes it possible to search for tracks with a specific description, length, or even price. One Light Music will even ship out a CD of files in different audio formats on request. And no memberships are required ever.

Music and sounds are provided under two standard royalty free licenses, based on application, allowing end-users the non-exclusive, worldwide right to use the music as they please in any medium. One license covers educational, non-profit, and personal uses, while the other covers commercial, for-profit, and broadcast usage.

Composers register for an account to sell their music through the productiontrax.com website, and then upload and manage an unlimited number of tracks. The composers are able to set their own retail price for each track, and once their tracks are sold to a customer, the composer gets paid. “We’re raising the bar for library music, and the result is a huge selection of wonderful music that suits any multimedia application,” Negron says. “our selection is constantly changing and growing to meet the needs of the industry.”

Productiontrax.com also boasts a large directory of composers, allowing visitors to locate and contact a composer or sound designer in their area.
